Agnus Dei & Royal Borough Headteacher Qualification

This qualification provides an accredited professional development programme (through the CPD Certification Service) to existing leaders in a senior role aspiring to Headship. It is underpinned throughout the course by Christ’s own example of servant leadership and the Gospel Values.

The course comprises of seven modules covering areas such as leadership in the Catholic context, teaching and learning, resource management, partnerships and increasing capability. A blended learning approach of face-to face taught components and distance learning materials is used to support candidates learning. The course will involve a mixture of taught modules, pre reading and online learning.

Each delegate will be required to lead a whole school challenge programme in their own school, lasting at least 2 terms, (Part A) and design an action plan to meet the resourcing and capability needs of their placement school (Part B), ensuring that it identifies and supports the Catholic values of both schools.

The taught element of the course will take place over 4 days and the project will then be submitted.  Each day’s taught session will require pre reading and will have guided learning to accompany it.

The course is ideal for anyone who is looking to move into headship within the next 2 years, or anyone who is new to this position.  Alongside gaining practical, hands on advice and coaching delegates will become versed in the Gospel Values and how they underpin everything that we do as Catholic Educators.  In order to become accredited all modules and the project must be completed. We will be assessing the elements of Part B by way of an action plan which is to be formulated following a placement at another Catholic school.
