WORKSHOP RAISES SOME BIG QUESTIONS AND IMPRESSES STUDENTS

6th Form Religious Studies students had a fantastic experience to join the online platform @canterburyccuni today, February 26, to join Dr Joshua Hayes - a research fellow from the LASAR (Learning about Science and Religion) team.

We are one of the first schools to benefit from one of their live sessions delivered to schools as students reflected on the 'Big Questions' - ethical and philosophical - that have been raised as a result of the Covid pandemic.

Debate focussed around whether it matters how the Covid vaccine was created and who should get the vaccine first.

They took on the roll of the government and SAGE committee to work out the kind of issues that would need to be addressed.

One student, Prince, said: "It was incredible. It would have been fun to debate around the table like the real government but the online format worked well." Another student, Jack, commented that the session was "unparalleled in terms of interest and enjoyment.”

We think they are pawsome! #catsofinstagram

FAMILY FAST DAY HOPES TO RAISE FUNDS FOR CAFOD

Tomorrow, Friday February 26, is Family Fast Day and as Lent is traditionally a time for alms giving we hope lots of our staff, students and their families will get involved.

Walk for Water is the theme this year with us being asked to “Go the distance and help end water poverty this Lent .“

To join in tomorrow, maybe swap something you would normally have - a doughnut, bag of sweets or crisps bar of chocolate, latte or a fizzy drink for a small donation to CAFOD.

Your £1 donation could really make a difference. Payment can be made via ParentPay.

Alternatively, you might want to sponsor our 6th Form CAFOD team who are attempting to walk 10,000 steps a day for a whole week.

You could even join in after lessons finish on Friday by walking 10,000 steps in your own socially distanced Government guidelines approved way.

We are excited to see the ways our St Bon’s community will help out and join in.

Don’t forget to send in your photos or record your efforts and share them with us. 🏃🏽‍♀️💦
