Twenty one Year 13 students underwent first aid training this afternoon, January 21, from Derek Causarano from the British Red Cross.
Derek came in delivered an excellent workshop and the students gleaned essential knowledge and skills how to deal with a variety of emergency situations.
The students came away feeling confident and reported that it was a really useful session.
Director of 6th Form, Wayne Templeman, added: “I’m certain the students will remember what they learned today for a very, very long time and it will give them the confidence to help out in future if they see someone in distress.”
Mr Bennett would have us believe that every single science lesson of his is really fun and enjoyable and we would believe him of course, but last Friday, January 11, was a remarkable day for his students.
They spent the day programming and refining their handmade robots in preparation for the Lego Robotics competition next month.
Mr Adenekan said they made lots of progress and their machines were very impressive.
Well done to:
Below is a video of one of the robots. It looks fantastic!

Well done students and God bless you for helping out.
Here are some photographs from last night’s carol service in St Antony’s Church.
There were many, many moving performances from various choirs and readings by the students and afterwards parents, governors and guests enjoyed mince pie and mulled wine.
The retiring collection for Caritas Anchor House managed to raise £358.19 too which was really generous.
Happy Christmas everyone and we will see you all when normal lessons resume on January 7, 2019.
Our Year 12 CAFOD students spent break-time and lunchtime today, Wednesday, selling mini chocolate cups sprinkled in edible gold dust in Room 17 to raise funds for CAFOD.
Sundus stayed up until the early hours of the morning making the yummy desserts.
There’s still time to go along and support this worthwhile charity and grab a delicious cup of pud.
CHRISTMAS got off to a flying start for these Year 7 lads who picked up awards at this morning’s Achievement Assembly.
Mr Ward and Mr Robinson gave out a variety of awards in Cardinal Manning Hall including music awards, Head of Year awards and merits.
What a great start to secondary school these students have had.
It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!
