A Level Results 2020

16-18 Performance Data – St Bonaventure’s School

As a 6th Form we aim to help our students achieve the very best results possible, on the courses most appropriate to them. Our average grade is a C at A-Level for students completing 3 A-Levels with us and our BTEC outcomes are very good on the new, more rigorous courses, with an average grade of Merit+.

We are very proud of our high retention rates (Over 94% – Well above National Average) and our 100% Progression Rate. 90% of our students leave us to go to university, with the rest either gaining places on apprenticeships, traineeships or entering the employment sector. We have a small number of students taking GCSE English & Maths post-16 and our results hugely exceed the National average.

We also take a small number of students straight into Year 13 in order to provide them the opportunity to complete their A-Level study. This is very much how our catholic ethos as a 6th Form works in practice. Our community of support, respect, care and friendship is what drives us to do all we can to help our students through education, not only as academics but as active citizens.

Congratulations to all our students on another fantastic set of results in very uncertain and challenging times. This year there were many superb individual performances again with many students achieving top grades in individual subjects.

We are immensely proud of our teachers and staff who are extremely supportive and very caring and go the extra mile to ensure our students succeed in everything they do. They always ensure that learning is relevant and enjoyable which gives our students the confidence to approach their examinations with the right frame of mind.

We nurture talents to ensure that every student achieves their full potential and the outstanding performance of our students gives them the opportunities to continue their educational journey by progress onto a range of highly regarded courses at University, great apprenticeships and future employment.
