What a glorious awesome Autumn day we were blessed with last year for our annual sponsored walk around West Ham Park…here’s hoping we are just as lucky next Friday, November 17, when the whole school marches through the Victorian park for the traditional charity event.

Last year we managed to raise a phenomenal ÂŁ5,200 for the Brentwood Catholic Children’s Society and they were so grateful when the huge cheque was presented at our 140th anniversary mass in the summer.

That’s a hard record to beat we know, but our students and their families are always generous and we feel certain that this year will be no different.

Students have already brought home sponsor forms but parents are reminded to dissuade them from approaching strangers and going from door to door to collect sponsors and sponsorship money. Friends and family are usually very supportive of this request.

Parents can use Parentpay to send in the amount collected to prevent cash being brought into school.

We will be praying for the sun to shine and dry, crisp weather this year to make it a success.

School therapy pet, Ziggy, will lead the walkers and setting the pace this year too.
