The Media department is also involved in creating video news features on school events using high quality cameras and professional video editing software.

You will study seven units which are

1. Introduction to media industries
2. Research for media production
3. Introduction to media audiences and products
4. Flim production
5. Advertising production
6. Print production
7. Reviewing computer games

A2-Sept 09

From September 09 you will focus on the following:

1. Advanced coursework-film and print production producing:   i) a music promo video   ii) a website homepage for the band   iii) a cover for its release on DVD   iv) a magazine advertisement for the DVD
2. Study contemporary media issues alongside a theoretical evaluation of production

AS

From September 09 you will focus on the following:

1. Induction to the equipment and key media concepts
2. Coursework – film production – 2 tasks: 1) Preliminary continuity exercise 2) titles and opening sequence of a new fiction film
3. Analyse media texts focusing on British TV drama considering ideas of representation, institutions and audiences
4. Study the Music Industry as part of the examined work.
