ICT

ICT is the learning and teaching tool of the 21st century. By teaching pupils using ICT, you're not only helping them learn better; you're preparing them for a workplace – a world – already dominated by the computer. This is today's technology, not tomorrow's. “Curriculum online”

Aims & Objectives

• To ensure that the statutory entitlement for ICT is met for all students in the school.
• To provide all pupils with sufficient levels of skills in the use of IT to enable them to use such tools independently, in any efficient and effective manner, wherever they may be appropriate to support their learning or output in any subject.
• Where pupils decide to take the subject further, the department aims to provide them with the opportunity to gain a qualification at GCSE level or beyond.

The revised national curriculum is followed, which consists of the following:

  • Finding things out
  • Developing ideas and making things happen
  • Exchanging and sharing information
  • Reviewing, modifying and evaluating work as it progresses
  • Breadth of study

The Edexcel AiDA course is followed.
